In 2004, it was following the New Hampshire and Iowa primaries, neither of which found Howard Dean in first place, that he fired his Campaign Manager, Joe Trippi. He had been the favorite during the months leading up to the primaries. That was January 2004, just shy of 9 months prior to the election. Today, still early July 2007, we are 16 months prior to the election, and there are firings. Think the heat has been turned up a little bit?
